12. Diegetic Title Idea

Unlike last year's failed attempt at a diegetic title, I believe that I can do it this year!

If I decide to go with reading off my phone, I can put it down on the bed with an overhead shot of the screen with the title "Chrysanthemum" displaced, title of the story I was voicing over.

It would be something similar to this, however when drawing it I realized how long Chrysanthemum actually is and the phone would have to be sideways to fit the entire word.

The main reason I want to include a diegetic title is:

1. It's a nice challenge to try

2. There may not be a time elsewhere within the film to incorporate the title, diegetic or not, especially in the beginning.

If I were to put it in the beginning it could be before the entire film.

Fade in from black -> title -> fade out to the film

It's not a terrible idea at all and many films have been made like that, like the short film I researched.

The idea I have for the non-diegetic title.

There's also an idea where, if I go with the phone route, I put "Hanahaki Disease" instead of the title. This gives the audience a bit of an idea on what is going to happen and it seems like V is researching the disease. Although, this would bring me back to square one on trying to make the title diegetic.
