13. Intended Audience

The film will be using teens in high school. It's meant to be a little high school love story. This leads to a more broad audience that can have an understanding of the love the character's feel for each other. It can also replicate the feelings a majority of people who fall in love as a teen will be, meaning it will be realistic.

The character's will be two women, for a lesbian love story.

The reason I had it be a lesbian love story rather than a heterosexual relationship is because I want to see more representation for them. In my experience, there are not many love stories for them, along with ending in a positive way. By that I mean the two women either don't end up together or one of the die, etc. My film is actually following that trend, not because the media has influenced me, but due to me wanting to kill a character off and completely deny the audience of their expectations.

One story, was The Summer, a Korean movie. It was absolutely beautiful in the relationship development, from before they met to the end. The two characters did have their ups and downs, like any relationship; however, one had to find interest in another woman and ultimately ended the relationship. Neither character had a happy ending and the relationship was ended for no reason. There are actual reasons, but those could've been worked through, rather than being interested in someone other than her girlfriend.

Beginning of their relationship.

End of the relationship. Both images have almost the exact same color and lighting, giving it a slight nostalgic feel when you look at them together and feel saddened by how it ended.

However, there are stories that do show a happy ending, The Handmaiden. The narrative had multiple different plot twists for many of the characters and against all odds, the two end up together. It was a fight between their individual issues just to get to one another.

This is the scene where they confessed to each other; relived and finally happy they are together.
