27. Updated Storyboard (Beginning)

Due to my new idea of incorporating V drawing instead of reading off her phone, I had to redo a few shots in my storyboard. The shots itself are almost exactly the same: a dolly to begin the film off and a close up of the character and what she is doing. However, there is an addition of an overhead shot to show the viewers exactly what she is working on and show the title "Chrysanthemum".

Flipping a sketchbook's pages makes the shot more dramatic, compared to turning a phone over. The viewers get a large motion to follow with their eyes, instead of slightly hiding a phone's screen. With this addition, I believe the scene will have more of an impact and importance because of how big of a deal it was.

While I was figuring out the changes, I was also thinking about the music during the scene. When LI jumps onto V's back, the music should stop the second she lands and the sketchbook closes. This, logically, wouldn't happen because of people's reaction time being somewhat slow; however, once V closes the sketchbook it would end.

The old storyboard.

The new storyboard beginning. The first two shots are almost the same, then an addition of an overhead shot is added and the story follows the same beginning after that.
