26. Another Title Idea

It has come to my attention, after thinking about the finer details in my film that I cannot read off my phone! That's my camera! Not to mention I don't want the characters on their phones that much, since they would be caring more about each other. Plus with the removal of the voiceover, this could be a better idea anyway.

The new idea is to have V drawing chrysanthemums in a sketchbook.

The drawings could be like a spreadsheet of all the different parts of a Chrysanthemum, like a documentation of what stage V is at in the Hanahaki Disease.

The word "Chrysanthemum" would be written at the top of the page.

An overhead shot of V drawing would be done to ensure the viewers see the word. I wouldn't put the word as a full shot, to keep the natural framing of the shot to have V and the sketchbook in frame. Including the title here makes it seem like I am naming what V is drawing rather than putting any impact to it, because there shouldn't be.

I was thinking to go with the idea I previously had, incorporating the title at the end of the movie just before the credits start playing, a 'Main on End' title. When the title shows at the end, I want the audience to feel heavily impacted, sad, on what they just watched. They should not be happy with the ending. I envision the audience to be so wrapped up within the story that once it fades to black they would think there's more to come, but in reality story ended.

This blog is what I used to research title types.
