20. Bathroom Scene

The Bathroom Scene is to show the audience how bad V's Hanahaki Disease has gotten.

Underneath the sink is her stash of flower parts that she doesn't know what to do with.

V's is going to cough up a full flower into the sink. The sink felt better and less gross than having me cough into the toilet and then show shots of the blood and flower in it. She will be completely different from how she is seen with LI, panicked and frantic.

My bathroom has almost the whole wall in a mirror so it will have to be at a slight angle to avoid that, meaning the shot will show my face through the mirror. It also has the air vents turn on automatically when the main lights are on and there is no way to turn it off. The lighting in the bathroom is one of the best, besides the natural light, although a bit yellow. I can always shoot the scene with the lights on, mute the audio and do a voice over, but having the lights off give an even more panicked vibe; saying that V doesn't have the time to turn the lights on before she coughs up flowers. Less light can also have a mysterious feel; this will be the first time the audience sees anything to do with Hanahaki and that unsettling aura puts them on edge for the rest of the movie.

The start of the bathroom scene, which incorporates the idea with the flowers hidden underneath the sink.

These shots are meant to show how nervous and panicked V is once LI knocks on the door, plus how nervous she gets when not in front of LI.
