49. New Ending (Vase)

Since I decided to put this random vase in the beginning of the film, there needed to be a 'conclusion' involving it. If I didn't have a reason for it, the vase would not be there.

At the end of the film, LI comes back to the vase and adds the flower she got yesterday (white chrysanthemum) along with her sunflower that she coughed up, indicating that she has the disease too. This should tie the whole film together in a physical, scene way and the storyline.

This will be how the flowers will look in the vase. There was no small sunflower to fit inside the vase.

The shot will start the same way as the beginning, LI walking in front of the vase (except right to left), but she stops right in the center of the frame, hiding the vase from the viewers. She will place the flowers down, the Chrysanthemum in the vase, because the disease has gone on so long that the stem started growing, and the Sunflower on the table itself, LI's disease isn't as developed so there's no stem. Then she walks off, ending the film.

The reason she walks from right to left is to show her leaving the house, when before she entered the house from left to right.

The storyboard for the beginning and end, with the vase.

I really want the shot to work, just to draw the suspense a little bit more, then to reveal that LI felt the exact same way.
