51. Filming Day 6 (Park + Death)

For the Park scene to work, it has to be extremely bright to contrast the previous dark/gloomy scene (hallway) and that did not happen! The only day we could film was the Sunday and it had to be so cloudy and gloomy. It did start to brighten up after some time, but most of the shots were already filmed and it made no difference.

Neither of us really wanted to film and you can definitely see that in some of Talia's acting. Her character should be excited, but she was unenergetic and it might seem that LI doesn't want to be there or that she doesn't enjoy V's presence. Especially since the jumping shot is gone, LI is slowly getting watered down to a boring, normal character.

For my reaction shots, it was too dark to get my face clearly, so I decided to refilm on my own, on a brighter day, and to use some of the old clips I had from the previous session.

The swings I wanted to re-film because I only had one take of V walking to the swings and I didn't really like it, plus there wasn't much of a difference in lighting. I wanted to visually show how long the two had been out talking. Unfortunately, there was a family who were swinging their child in the swings right next to us, and that could be seen in the shot. Once they did leave, a group of people started playing tennis right behind the swings and could be seen in the background. With the lack of a deep focus shot, it would be too distracting and not worth to film, so I will use the old takes.

I did try to angle the shots to remove the people, but the direction I walked from doesn't fit with the previous shots, since you can see the entrance now and the sun was directly in the shot, causing a small, unwanted glare. There were too many inconsistencies and I think if there were anymore I would explode.

The swings shot where it is directly behind the characters. The red arrow shows where the other people were. The bars of the swing were cut off, uncentered and it doesn't show any expression for the characters.

The angled shot of the swings. The sun created a focal point to itself, rather than the character and created a glare that I didn't like.

On the opposite side, the death scene was slightly better because of the gloomy atmosphere. It was slightly 'grey' and completely is different from the beginning of the film in the room. It created an uneasy feeling, which fits a death.

The lighting in the beginning in the film, extremely bright and expressions can be see clearly.

The death scene's lighting, slightly dark/gloomy and the expressions can't be seen as good, but that adds to the unnerving feeling happening to LI.
